California Animal Shelter Friends, Inc. is a PRIVATE, non-profit rescue group.  We are not a public animal shelter.  We do not hold public hours.  We do hold adoptions during set adoption hours by appointment only. 

CAT ADOPTIONS:  Held weekday nights and weekend days.  Pease e-mail us at cashelterfriends@yahoo.com for more information on cat/kitten adoptions.

DOG ADOPTIONS - Are done by appointment only and only after we have received and approved your completed "Dog Adoption Application."  We do not do "drop-in" dog/puppy adoptions.  These adoptions are done by appointment only.

PLEASE NOTE:  Our Woodland location is private property owned by supporters of our organization who generously allow us to hold adoptions there on a regular basis for the convenience of adopters and the safety of our animals.  Please do not abuse this relationship by trespassing on this property during non-adoption hours or during adoption hours without an appointment if you are interested in meeting a dog or puppy.  People who violate this request WILL NOT be allowed to adopt an animal from our organization.

WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU PRINT OUT THE DIRECTIONS BELOW AND USE THEM TO AVOID GETTING LOST.

 

From the Bay Area/Fairfield/Areas South of Woodland and Sacramento -
Take Highway 80 toward Sacramento. In Vacaville (20 minutes South of Sacramento) take the exit for Highway 505 North. Go approximately 20 minutes/miles on Highway 505 North to the "Highway 16 Woodland/Esparto" exit. Take a right onto Highway 16. Go approximately 4 miles to our address 34511 Highway 16. This will be the very first driveway after Road 94B on Highway 16. This is a 5 acre private property. Drive to the end of the asphalt driveway to the large white and bright blue building.

 

From Davis -
Take Highway 113 North to Woodland and continue as it becomes Highway 5 North. Take the very LAST Woodland exit from Highway 5, "Highway 16 West Esparto," this is NOT the West Street exit but the exit AFTER that.  After taking the Highway 16 exit take a left over the freeway and go approximately 3 1/2 miles on Road 98 to the first stoplight intersection (not stop sign - stoplight) which is West Main Street/Highway 16 (as Woodland's Main Street becomes Highway 16 on the West border of the city). Take a right at this stoplight and go approximately 3.7 miles to our facility at 34511 Highway 16. This will be exactly 0.7 miles past the Road marker for Road 95. We will be on your left. Drive to the end of the asphalt driveway to the large white and bright blue building.

 

From Sacramento/Areas Northeast of Woodland -
Take Highway 5 north past the Sacramento Airport to Woodland. Take the very LAST exit for Woodland from Highway 5, "Highway 16 West Esparto."  To avoid getting lost please DO NOT take the first few Woodland exits, DO NOT take the Main Street exit and DO NOT take the West Street exit.  Take the Highway 16 exit (which is AFTER both Main Street and West Streets' exits).  After taking the Highway 16 West Esparto exit take a left over the freeway and go approximately 3 1/2 miles on Road 98 to the first stoplight intersection (not stop sign - stoplight) which is West Main Street/Highway 16 (Main Street in Woodland becomes Highway 16 on the west edge of the town). Take a right at this stoplight which will put you on Highway 16 and go approximately 3.7 miles to our facility at 34511 Highway 16. This will be exactly 0.7 miles past the Road marker for Road 95. We will be on your left. Drive to the end of the asphalt driveway to the large white and bright blue building.

 

From Redding/other areas directly North of Woodland -
Take Highway 5 south to Woodland. Take the very FIRST Woodland exit, "Highway 16 West Esparto." Take a right at the bottom of the exit ramp and go approximately 3 1/2 miles on Road 98 to the first stoplight intersection (not stop sign - stoplight) which is West Main Street/Highway 16. Take a right at this stoplight and go approximately 3.7 miles to our facility at 34511 Highway 16. This will be exactly 0.7 miles past the Road marker for Road 95. We will be on your left. Drive to the end of the asphalt driveway to the large white and bright blue building.

 

California Animal Shelter Friends, Inc. - On-Site Adoption Facility PRIVATE PROPERTY 34511 State Highway 16 Woodland, CA United States 95695 This is our primary on-site adoption location. We typically hold adoptions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and Saturday from 12 pm to 2 pm.
