This is "Julie," she is a 6 week old Pomeranian/something mix (we have no idea but she sure is cute, isn't she?). She came to us from a Sacramento area animal shelter. UPDATE:  AS OF MARCH 16, 2005 JULIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED.

This is "Deena," she is a border collie/chow chow mix.  She was rescued from a Central California shelter and has 8 gorgeous newborn puppies.  UPDATE - As of March 30, 2005 all of Deena's puppies have been adopted.

"Penny" just came to California Animal Shelter Friends on February 25, 2005.  She is a black tri-colored Australian Shepherd who gave birth to 9 tiny babies while in a Sacramento area animal shelter.  7 of her puppies survived their 3 days in the shelter with mom.   UPDATE:  AS OF APRIL 27, 2005, PENNY AND HER PUPPIES HAVE ALL BEEN ADOPTED

This precious little guy is named "Pugsley," he is a pug mix.  Pugsley came from a central California animal shelter with a broken leg.  The fracture was old and had never been repaired.  Because the fracture is so old the leg will have to be amputated.  BUT, Pugsley already does great using just his 3 good legs and will continue to be totally mobile and happy once the injured leg is no longer holding him back.  Pugsley is approximately 5 years old, is a neutered male, and is a sweetheart.  He is loving, playful and eager to please.  UPDATE:  AS OF APRIL 30, 2005 PUGSLEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED.

"Austin" and his 2 sisters came to us in March, 2005.  They will be ready for adoption in mid to late April, 2005.  UPDATE:  Austin has been adopted as of 4/13/05

"Jewel," her brother "Austin," and her sister, "Lana," will be ready for adoption in mid to late April, 2005.  UPDATE:  Jewel has been adopted as of 4/13/05

"Baby Peanut" came to us from a Sacramento area shelter.  He is approximately 6 months old and is a black and white chihuahua.  He is VERY sweet.  He has a skin condition and is in foster care while we wait for the results of his skin culture.  UPDATE:  Baby Peanut has been adopted as of 4/13/05

This is one of "Roxie's" puppies.  "Roxie" was abandonned with her 6 young puppies at a Northern California animal shelter.   All of Roxie's puppies have now been adopted UPDATE:  As of mid-May, 2005, all of Roxie's puppies have been adopted.

"Lexi" is just the sweetest black labrador retriever.  She came to us with her 6 precious puppies from a Northern California animal shelter.  Her puppies could not be any cuter.  They are 2 Chocolate colored labrador retriever/German Shorthaired Pointer mixes and 4 spotted/speckled German Shorthaired Pointer/labrador retriever mixes.  They are all outgoing and friendly and are going to be just gorgeous dogs. UPDATE:  As of late May, 2005, all of Lexi's puppies and Lexi herself have been adopted.
